BEACONHILLS College has secured internationally accredited coach Mark Stevens to head their Tennis School of Excellence.
Stevens arrives with a decorated pedigree. He has coached world ranked juniors to the Australian Open and senior players on the Association of Tennis Professionals tour – the premier men’s competition in world tennis.
And Stevens in a statement said he was relishing the prospect of working with and developing the skills of college pupils.
“Whether students are aiming for a career as a professional player, in the business management side of tennis or playing at a club level, there will be a clear pathway for every student,” Mr Stevens said.
The college tennis school, launched in 2015, is based at Beaconhills’ Pakenham campus and boasts 10 outdoor synthetic grass courts, an indoor stadium tennis court, two extra indoor stadium courts for strength and conditioning and a fully equipped gymnasium.
And with state-of-the-art facilities designed to accommodate students from Years 1-8, Stevens believes there are promising times ahead for the sport at the college and in the broader area.
“With the huge interest in tennis in this region, I believe there is an exciting future ahead for the Tennis School of Excellence and the college’s tennis programs,” he said.
