Boy airlifted after being hit by car

A PRIMARY school aged boy has been airlifted to hospital after being hit by a car in Pakenham this morning (Tuesday).
After 8.30am on Tuesday 6 October the boy, estimated to be aged between 11 and 12, collided with a car outside Pakenham Consolidated School on the Princes Highway, Pakenham.
The boy was believed to have been riding a push bike at the time.
A spokesperson from Ambulance Victoria said the boy sustained upper body and leg injuries, however were unable to confirm the extent of his injuries.
Pakenham police Senior Sergeant Graeme Stanley said it is believed passers-by provided emergency aid to the boy before the ambulance arrived.
He was not able to confirm if the boy was a Pakenham Consolidated School student.
He was airlifted to the Royal Children’s Hospital.
The incident caused major traffic delays, with police redirecting traffic onto Toomuc Valley Road more than an hour after the incident.
