Problem with complaints

Does a council blacklist exist? Council says no, David Connor says yes. 138931_12

DAVID Connor is concerned about the state of our local areas and spends his time letting the responsible organisations know about it.
As he drives around, he finds things that he believes needs to be tended to.
He then records them and lodges them as jobs on council websites and organisations.
He’s been committed to this for seven or eight years.
“It’s possibly a bit longer” he said.
“From time to time, I’ll email letters to the editor.”
Recently he’s found Cardinia’s system not letting him lodge his ‘jobs’.
“I also converse with a lot of other organisations like the City of Casey and Greater Dandenong councils, VicRoads and Melbourne Water and there are others,” he said.
“I’m on these computer systems all the time, but it seems that the only problems I get are with Cardinia.”
He is concerned he was ‘blacklisted’ in January.
“But they’d never admit it,” he said.
“(It) must have been one of those efficiencies they were bleating about.”
But Cardinia is adamant he has not been ‘blacklisted’.
“The council does not blacklist residents or limit the number of issues a resident can raise,” council spokesman Paul Dunlop said.
“The online request system has been tested and is working.
“At this stage, it is unclear why the resident experienced issues using this system, however, the council is continuing to investigate the error.”
Mr Dunlop further explained that the privacy statement Mr Connor received upon his ‘jobs’ not being lodged is “in relation to the provision of information to the council as part of the online request process and is unrelated to the error”.
The council has advised that any resident having problems lodging requests online can also lodge them via mail@cardinia.vic.gov.au or by phoning 1300 787 624. In all cases, service requests will be assigned a tracking number so the person making the request can stay informed as to progress on the issue.
