THIS year’s Volunteer Emergency Service Equipment Program (VESEP) has delivered for Cardinia’s CFA units.
The program contributes $2 for every $1 contributed by local volunteer groups.
For Cardinia, the groups came together to put in a bid for a new field command vehicle.
CFA gave over $16,000 and the State Government contributed over $32,000.
The new field command vehicle is a Ford Ranger, and is for the Cardinia area in general, where most units will have their own as well.
Member for Eastern Victoria Region Harriet Shing said the contribution made by CFA volunteers cannot be overstated.
“A new field command vehicle for this unit will mean that staff and volunteers are better equipped to respond to an increasing number of call-outs throughout the area,” she said.
“Cardinia CFA is particularly deserving of this funding to purchase a new FCV – the right tools and equipment makes all the difference on the ground.”
