Top numbers go north

DROUIN GOLF

WITH strong winds and cooler conditions reminding golfers that winter is not far away, good scores are about to go on holidays.
The conditions didn’t stop some players on the weekend though, with Greg Street triumphant in A Grade with 38, and Brad Frost’s 41 good enough to win C Grade comfortably. After a break from the game Willem Muller is getting back in to form, taking out B Grade with 37. Balls down the line went to; Henk Van Deuren 39, Steve Henning 37, David Wouters 36, Jim McCormack 36, Mike Waring 36, Tony Piner 36, David Low 36 and Damian Bibby 35. Nearest the pins were; Jeff Monteath 5th, Dean Robbins 8th, Graham Austin 10th, and Goran Danilov 14th and pro pin.
MIDWEEK
Wednesday was played off the white markers. While most players appreciate the variety this adds to the game there are some who bemoan the need to change their club selection. Angus McArthur will enlighten you further if you are interested. What is certain though is that in the depths of winter it will be appreciated.
Phil Thomson won A Grade with 41. Obviously David Low appreciates the steadying influence provided by his mate, Colin Hunt, who has returned from holiday. He took out B Grade on count-back with 40. Terry Palmer had the best score of the week to win C Grade with 43. Balls down the line went to; Rob Woodward 40, Kevin Johnson 39, Goran Danilov 39, Graeme McLeod 39, Peter Downward 38, Barry Beechey 38, Mike Hall 38, Darryl Bryce 37, Joe Kirby 37. Nearest the pins were; Stuart Williams 5th, Peter Downward 8th, Mike Hall 10th, and Paul Davie 14th and pro pin.
This Saturday is stableford and the Autumn Amble.
