GIPPSLAND LEAGUE
DIVISION 1 – ROUND 4

BOTH Warragul and Drouin were outclassed in their respective Gippsland League clashes on Saturday, with the Gulls still yet to record their first win of the season and the Hawks slipping out of the top-four on percentage.
Morwell proved far too good for Warragul, taking their eight-point quarter-time lead and turning it into a 10-goal advantage at half-time.
The Tigers continued to run away with the game in the second half with a 72-point win 19.16 (130) to 9.4 (58).
Brad Scalzo, Jarryd Drew and Nick Mulqueen were the Gulls’ best, while Mark Johnson, Ben Drew and Nick Stevenson slotted two goals apiece.
The second-placed Maffra was too strong for the Hawks at Sinclair Street, storming to a 57-point win – 20.16 (136) to 11.13 (79).
Bob McCallum and Sean Proctor booted three goals each for Drouin, which will host Moe this week while the Gulls head to Wonthaggi.
Jarryd Drew has been named in Gippsland’s preliminary interleague squad, as have Drouin foursome Daniel Nicholls, Ben Hughes, Cameron Hall and McCallum.
