Race to build on track

ASCOT is behind schedule but still on track, with developers expecting home owners to move into their new houses by the end of the year.
While house construction is slightly behind expectation, the delay is not a concern for those behind the project.
Land preparation across both stage one and two of Ascot, developed by ISPT, is complete.
ISPT Senior Development manager Anna Martiniello said the first residents should be now be able to move into their new homes in the “latter part of 2015.”
“As is customary when working towards delivering titles for completed stages, we are currently awaiting approval from authorities. This means construction is slowed while we wait for compliance to come through,” she said.
“Stage one is the first stage expected to have residents commence building which includes only 17 blocks. Due to a slight shift in the design of Stage One, construction has been slightly delayed, and purchasers are expected to start settling on their lots from this month. ISPT has been sure to communicate these slight delays with the purchasers so they are aware of the minor setbacks in the delivery of titles.”
Ms Martiniello said Ascot was on track to deliver its first community amenity, a large community park, in November.
“Called ‘Ascot Park’ this parkland will pay homage to the site’s racing history and will include a children’s racing track complete with a start and finish line as well as a picnic shelter set to mimic the site’s original ticket booth that will also be included in the design,” Ms Martiniello said.
“ISPT is incredibly proud of this parkland and we look forward to delivering many more amenities as the development progresses.”
ISPT has planning permits for stages one through five of the Ascot estate, but Cardinia Council’s Development co-ordinator Ken White said the council was currently awaiting applications for the balance of the land.
Mrs Martiniello said due to an overwhelming response from the local market, ISPT was currently working towards applying for permits for Stages 6 to 10.
“(We want) to ensure there will be sufficient product available to the market as the project progresses.”
