Police probe grass fire

A DELIBERATELY lit grass fire is under investigation by police.
Firebugs were allegedly seen at the scene of a small fire along a walking track at Beaconsfield Flora and Fauna Reserve about 6pm on Thursday 19 February.
The fire was spotted by a passer-by.
Cardinia Crime Investigation Unit is investigating the deliberately lit fire and is asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Woman shocked by intruder
A PAKENHAM woman woke up with fright when she discovered a male intruder in her home over the weekend.
About 8.30am on Sunday 22 February, a man entered a Deveney Street home and approached a woman as she was sleeping in her bedroom.
Startled by the intruder, the woman awoke suddenly which sent the man running.
Detective Senior Sergeant Trevor Smith said the man, who was known to police, then ran off.
Nothing was taken from the home.
Anyone who saw the man acting suspiciously in the area is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
