Knitting toys for Christmas

WITH around 18 ladies in the Beaconsfield Neighbourhood Centre’s Circle Group, there has been enormous effort to knit and crochet over 100 items for the 4Cs in Pakenham. Term 4 was dedicated to the making of toys for Santa to distribute to the children of Cardinia Shire who receive a hamper from 4Cs.
With well over 120 toys made, the group is thrilled with the total this year. Along with making toys, they also put together a baby pack consisting of a baby rug, matinee jacket, bonnet, bootees and a toy. All of which are either knitted or crocheted.
These bags are given out throughout the year. The group is always looking out for donations of wool and these may be left at the reception of the Beaconsfield Neighbourhood Centre, O’Neil Road, Beaconsfield. Call the centre on 03 8768 4400.
