A FINAL hit out for Pakenham Soccer Club on Sunday proved fruitful as the Cougars’ men and women had their chance to hone their skills ahead of the season proper.
Squaring off against the Bayside Argonauts in the women’s, men’s reserves and men’s seniors competition – the Cougars performed admirably of their opening clashes in FFV State Leagues competition.
The women’s team claimed a 2-2 draw – with Hope Raynes and Jacynta Galabadaarachchi scoring for the Cougars – while the men’s team was gallant in a 1-4 defeat by the Argonauts – as Jayden Wright slotted the only major of the afternoon for the men. Pakenham men reserves suffered a 0-5 loss.
The final touches are also being confirmed for the annual Cardinia Shield between Pakenham Cougars and Bunyip Strikers Soccer Clubs – this year to be held at E. Gunton Oval, Cardinia on 12 April, at a time to be confirmed.
