High time for achievers

TWO Pakenham scouts will be presented with their Adventurer Level Cord and Australian Scout Medallion in May.
The Australian Scout Medallion is the highest achievement possible for a scout and can be compared to the Queen’s Scout Award for Venturer Scouts.
The boys, Brad Venables and Jack Buntine, were told of the news after their return from the 22nd Jamboree in Sydney.
Jack has been a scout for two years and has achieved what most scouts wish to in three years.
Both Brad and Jack completed compulsory units of citizenship and campcraft and finished an emergency target unit, which gave them a Level 2 first aid certificate.
They also completed 16 proficiency badges between them, as well as three patrol activities and journeys.
Brad cycled 120 kilometres, with a patrol of scouts, from Anderson to Wonthaggi on the Bass Coast Rail Trail and then from Koonwarra to Foster and returned on the Great Southern Rail Trail, while Jack walked 75km around Wilsons Promontory.
