Spectators flooded the streets of Lang Lang for the annual Show ’N’ Shine and Swap Meet on Sunday 13 February for a jam packed day of automotive fun.

Held at the Lang Lang Showgrounds, the Show ’N’ Shine has been an automotive event in the district for the last eight years, which saw hour long queues trying to get into the event.

The event was created by the Rotary Club of Kooweerup-Lang Lang to provide a car event for locals to enjoy as well as raising much needed funds for Rotary projects.

Keith White, Rotary Club of Kooweerup and Lang Lang coordinator, said the event had been a huge success despite the wait times, which were caused by volunteers undertaking Covid-19 regulations with visitors.

“What a fantastic day we had,“ Mr White said.

“Once the spectators were in the wait was soon forgotten because of the fantastic cars we had on display.“

Mr White said he thought they had of excess of 750 cars on display with 150 swap meet vendors.

The event has also had regular solid support from the members of VicMow who race modified ride on lawnmowers that provide some exciting racing action.

Mr White said the whole community got behind the event.

“The biggest thing is that the various organisations in the Lang Lang district all managed to get a drink out of the day, to say it bluntly,“ he said.

“All the service clubs, support groups, sporting clubs and primary school all got to get in there and have a go. That’s the important part, for the community to benefit from the day.“
