Delays expected on Monash

Works are being carried out on the Monash Freeway.

Motorists can expect delays on the Monash Freeway as upgrade works begin on the city bound carriageway.
Works will be carried out on the freeway between the South Gippsland Freeway and Eastlink from Tuesday 2 January to Sunday 7 January and inbound lanes will be closed as required.
VicRoads director of journey services, Sameem Moslih said engineers would monitor the situation closely and adjust the lane closures as required.
“During peak times only one lane will be closed, at other times we may need to close as many as three lanes, but we’ll always have at least two lanes open,” Mr Moslih said.
“It’s important we get this work done during the quietest time of the year so your 2018 trips on the Monash will be safer and quicker.”
VicRoads asks motorists to be patient and show respect and courtesy to fellow road users.
