Truck caught in apple turnover

A truck with a tri-axle trailer loaded with 23 tonnes of apples has overturned in Nar Nar Goon.
Police report the Scania prime mover driven by a 27-year-old man was travelling along the Princes Highway at the Nar Nar Goon roundabout connection towards Pakenham, about 2.20pm on Wednesday 26 July.
Cardinia Highway Patrol’s Leading Senior Constable Anthony Templar said the 23-tonne load shifted, causing the trailer to overturn, and spill 200 litres of diesel on the road.
Emergency services, VicRoads and the Environment Protection Authority were all on scene a short time later.
The Princes Highway is closed inbound near Nar Nar Goon, and motorists wishing to access the Princes Freeway from Nar Nar Goon Road will need to turn left and U-turn at the roundabout.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra travel time.
