Owner faces off milk bar bandit

UPDATE at 3pm

Pakenham CIU are looking for a “younger male” who was responsible for an attempted armed robbery in Eagle Drive last night.

A police spokesperson said he did not believe the botched robbery was linked to two others at the same milk bar over the past three months.

“He walked in armed with a knife and demanded cash,” a police spokesperson said.

“He was of a slim build wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans.

“We have CCTV vision of the male.”

AN Eagle Drive milk bar has been targeted for the third time in three months following an attempted robbery last night.
Store owner Dave said he had since armed himself following the previous early morning robbery on 28 July where a man made off with the cash register.
The would-be thief entered the milk at approximately 7.30pm last night.
“He came in and asked me to open the register. I said ‘Get out’, and he left,” he said.
“It was not the same person as last time.
“I have two sticks here (for protection). I’ve had this business for nearly nine months, so it’s not good.
“He looked like he was aged between 20 and 30.”
Dave said he had provided Pakenham police with a copy of CCTV vision of the would-be thief.
“I couldn’t even see his eyes though as he had a hoodie on and his face was covered,” he said.
The milk bar was also held up in late May.
