Just hours after the Phillip Island Football Netball Club celebrated a historically successful 2019 West Gippsland grand final day at Garfield – where the Bulldogs won three premierships – their home, ‘The Kennel’ in Cowes, was rocked by a cowardly break-in.
Phillip Island’s Cowes Recreation Reserve base was broken into, where petty cash, a number of personal items belonging to club people, and even a player’s car were stolen.
Thousands of dollars worth of further damage was also caused on a weekend that was supposed to be all about celebration for the red, white, and blue army.
It’s believed the break-in happened overnight from Sunday night to early Monday morning.
It marked the fourth such time a similar incident occurred at ‘The Kennel’ in the past 18 months. Anyone with information is urged to contact Cowes police immediately.
