A 50-year-old man was caught breaking not one, not two, but three different road rules in Emerald on Monday night and is set to pay the price for his actions.

Members of the Casey Highway Patrol spotted the man behind the wheel of a grey Nissan Navara utility doing 18km/h over the speed limit on the evening of Monday 19 July.

The vehicle was travelling at an alleged speed of 78km/h on Belgrave-Gembrook Road at about 7.15pm and after police pulled the driver over, they discovered that that wasn’t the only rule he was breaking.

As well as speeding, the man was found to be unlicensed and recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.020.

His car was immediately impounded for 30 days at a cost of $895 and the Ringwood East man is expected to attend court at a later date for these matters.
