These students from Pakenham Primary School certainly had something to celebrate recently, as they were crowned the undefeated champions of mixed netball at the Officer District Winter Lightning Premiership.

It was a day filled with sporty fun as these senior students took to the netball courts to play with a range of students from other schools, and taking out the top prize in their category was an added bonus.

The principal of Pakenham Primary School, Gail Butterworth said that it was a fantastic achievement for the students – especially as they were leading the way for their school, being the first students to win overall at the premiership event.

“Our senior students were proud to represent Pakenham Primary School across many sports at the Officer District Winter Lightning Premiership,“ Ms Butterworth said.

“Our mixed netball team was undefeated all day and was the overall winner for the day.

We are very excited as this is our first ever overall win for a team at a Lightning Premiership event.

The team is very excited to compete at divisional level,“ she said.

Well done kids – a ’net’-ceptional job!
