Commuters can expect some changes to their travel this weekend, the Department of Transport has warned.

As part of ongoing Metro Tunnel works, buses will replace trains on the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines between Caulfield and Westall from 8.30pm Friday 16 April to last service Sunday 18 April.

This is to allow for installation of critical trackside equipment and infrastructure in the rail corridor, the Department said.

Commuters should allow extra travel time.

For those heading out to regional Victoria, coaches will replace Gippsland line trains for part of the journey from the evening of Friday 16 April until the last service on Sunday 18 April while workers install trackside equipment and infrastructure.

Allow an extra 60 minutes travel time.

There will be ongoing overnight closures of the Monash Freeway over the coming months as part of works for Stage 2 of the Monash Freeway Upgrade.

Additionally, outbound lanes on the Princes Freeway will be closed between the Princes Link Highway and Cardinia Road between 8pm and 6am on Tuesday 20 and Thursday 22 April as part of the Monash Freeway Upgrade.

Victorians are reminded to wear a mask on public transport, in rideshare vehicles and taxis and in sensitive settings such as aged care facilities and hospitals.
