A two car collision has ended with one vehicle smashing through the front window of a Kooweerup house.

Emergency services were called to Moody Street, near Gardiner Street, at about 10.30am on Friday 22 January following reports of a two-car collision.

One man was taken to hospital.

It’s understood one of the vehicles crashed into a garage, while the other hit the front window.

Early reports suggested one person was trapped, prompting volunteers from the Pakenham Road Rescue Unit, made up of Pakenham SES and Nar Nar Goon CFA members, to respond.

“We got there and it was a fairly straight forward rescue,” Pakenham SES spokesman Shayne Honey explained.

A car crashed into the garage.

“Once crews arrived on scene they assisted getting the trapped male from the car by prying the door open.

“An acro prop was fitted as a precaution to ensure no further damage and to make the site safe.”

A man in his 80s was taken to Dandenong Hospital in a stable condition with a suspected medical condition, an Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman confirmed.

A Cardinia Shire Council building surveyor was expected to attend the site to determine the damage to the structure.
