Search on for missing man with autism

A search is underway for a missing Beaconsfield man with autism.

Benjamin Thompson, 31, is understood to have left his Amelia Street home at about 5am on Friday morning, 25 September.

He hasn’t been seen or heard from since.Police say Mr Thompson has autism and has limited verbal and social skills.

He also suffers from a medical condition which requires him to take medication.

According to a Victoria Police spokeswoman, Mr Thompson is familiar with the Beaconsfield area.

It’s believed he could use public transport to attend shopping centres.

Benjamin is described as 180cm tall with a large build.

He was last seen wearing an olive shirt, a dark zip-up jacket, black and maroon tracksuit pants and black shoes.

He was also understood to be carrying a black suitcase with shopping bags.
