Two erratic men travelling in a car allegedly filled with prescription drugs were arrested at the Nar Nar Goon checkpoint.

Despite the car being caught at the Princes Highway checkpoint, the two men told police they were headed to Bendigo.

They were also in breach of curfew when they were intercepted at about 9pm on Monday 21 September.

The car was searched and police will allege over 1000 tablets of prescription medication and drug trafficking paraphernalia were located.

A 23-year-old Flagstaff man and a 22-year-old White Hills man, who police say were behaving “erratically”, were arrested at the scene.

The pair were later charged with trafficking a drug of dependence and were slapped with a $1652 fine for a clear breach of the Chief Health Officer’s directive.

Both men have been released on bail and are set to front court at a later date.
