A number of Coles employees from the Cardinia Lakes store are self-isolating after a colleague returned a positive Covid-19 test.
In a statement released on Tuesday 11 August, the supermarket giant said the affected employee was self-isolating and had not been in store since 5 August.
As an added precaution, the store was subjected to an additional deep clean and Coles is working alongside the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to finalise contact tracing.
Meanwhile, Coles also confirmed on Wednesday 12 August that an employee from the Clyde North supermarket had returned a positive test result.
It’s understood that team member had not been into the store since 3 August.
A number of colleagues were also identified as close contacts and are in self isolation.
“Consistent with prior practice developed with the Victorian Department of Health, the store can continue to trade and the risk of transmission for customers and team members is very low,” a statement read.
As of Wednesday 12 August, there was 91 active cases of coronavirus in Cardinia and 356 in Casey.
