The Longwarry vehicle checkpoint is being relocated to Nar Nar Goon on Sunday 9 August.

Victoria Police confirmed the checkpoint that is currently located on the Princes Highway in Longwarry will be moved to Nar Nar Goon at the Snells Road intersection.

A spokesperson for Victoria Police said the vehicle checkpoint is being relocated for “operational reasons”.

Member for Bass Jordan Crugnale said the whole of Cardinia Shire will remain in Stage 4 coronavirus lockdown.

The Longwarry checkpoint was implemented at the start of the second Stage 3 lockdown in July, dividing Cardinia Shire and Baw Baw Shire.

Over the past 24 hours, Victoria Police has issued a total of 196 fines to individuals across the state for breaching the Chief Health Officer’s directions, including 11 at vehicle checkpoints.

Since the checkpoints were implemented, 17,682 vehicles have been checked.
