A staff member who works at Coles’ Cardinia Lakes is self-isolating after testing positive for coronavirus.

The team member has not been into the store since Sunday 19 July and no other staff members have been identified as having had close contact.

The supermarket giant are said to work with the Health Department to finalise contact tracing.

In a statement, Coles said the risk of transmission for customers and team members is “very low”.

“Coles’ standard cleaning procedures comply with the Federal Government’s Covid-19 hygiene practices for supermarkets and frequent sanitisation has occurred in the time since the team member was last on site,” a Coles spokespersons said.

“Consistent with prior practice developed with the Victorian Department of Health, the store can continue to trade.”
