Emergency service crews were called to a car fire in a Pakenham driveway on Wednesday 3 June.

Fire brigade volunteers crawled out of bed to assist police officers at the smokey scene along Meadowlea Crescent about 1.45am.

Four fire trucks – from Pakenham and Nar Nar Goon brigades – helped to extinguish the flame, which seemed to be coming from the rear of the black SUV.

After about half an hour, the fire was completely put out.

Victoria Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit deemed the incident as suspicious and is currently still investigating.

The Gazette has not been made aware of what may have caused the fire.

No one was trapped however it has not been determined whether anyone was involved or injured.
