The sun came out for another pot-up day at Tonimbuk Hall that saw delighted residents leave with new greenery for their growing gardens.
Over 1000 native plants were brought to the hall by Lakes Entrance Garden Club, as Victorians from far and away continue to contribute to the bushfire recovery in any way they can.
In addition, a number of Christmas potted succulents were donated by Bunyip Community House and Bunyip Green Thumbs, to provide some festive cheer to bushfire-affected residents.
Shirley Higman, president of the V3 Lions Online Branch, helped organise the day and said once again, many plants had found new homes to adorn.
Nevertheless, she added that more plants and succulents remain for residents who need them, with more able to be brought in from donors and volunteers.
“Don’t be shy, they need a home,” she said, encouraging residents to come and collect what they need to get their garden under way.
More volunteers are also required to help get the plants in the ground with residents before the weather gets too hot.
