Man fighting for life after crash

A man has been airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a suspected head-on collision in Officer.

Emergency services were called to Cardinia Road, south of the Princes Freeway, at about 4.50pm on Thursday 21 November.

It’s believed a car and truck collided out the front of the Kaduna Park homestead, but the cause of the collision is yet to be determined.

It’s understood the driver of the car, who was the sole occupant, was unconscious when emergency services arrived.

The driver of the truck and his passenger were not injured.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman confirmed they will conduct an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Cardinia Road remains closed south of the Princes Freeway towards Ballarto Road.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and seek an alternative route.
