Crime spree starts in Pakenham

Police are seeking to locate a man believed to be involved in a string of crimes which began in Pakenham.

The incident occurred on Monday 1 July, about 8.50am, when a man entered a service station on the Princes Highway in Pakenham.

It’s alleged he filled a stolen red 2004 Holden Statesman with fuel and drove off without paying.

The following day, Tuesday 2 July, about 12.45pm, the man is believed to have been in the same vehicle when it has collided with a police car in Croydon.

While the officers were unharmed, they were unable to intercept the vehicle and it was later seen travelling inbound on the Eastern Freeway.

Days later, the vehicle was located damaged in Westerfolds Park, Templestowe on Saturday 6 July.

Police have released an image of a man they believe could assist with their inquiries.

He is perceived to be Caucasian and aged in his mid to late 20s with a beard.Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
