Eighty people banded together to raise just under $5000 for vital cancer research.

The event was a Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea held at E Gunton oval on Thursday 23 May.

Event organiser Roxanne Taranto has been holding the event in Cardinia in honour of Dianne Schreuder who passed away in 2010.

“My late mother Dianne Schreuder used to run the morning tea from 2005 and we as a family supported and helped her,” Ms Taranto said.

“We kept it going on her behalf, inviting everyone on her invitation list and getting donations from the local community.”

The auction raffle and fruit and vegetables were a huge hit with attendees.

“Such a fantastic effort from our small community of people who put in and donated their time and goods.”

The $4778 raised at this event contributes to the $74,838.40 which has been raised since 2005.
