Cardinia Art Society has welcomed guests to their latest instalment of Art in The Garden displayed on an elegant hilltop garden property in Pakenham’s Mount Pleasant.

The event held on Labour Day was opened by Cr Michael Schilling who acknowledged the great work of the Cardinia Art Society, congratulating them on the event which brings locals together through a shared love of arts.

Several artists attended including president of the Emerald Arts Society, Wendy Lindrea who amused guests with a live painting inspired by the view which extended over Western Port Bay and into Gippsland. Mark Dinnie, a local painter, was also asked to create a piece especially for the day.

President Jillian Ronald said she was happy to see the locals getting amongst the exhibition which showcased a variety of painting, drawing, jewellery making, flower making and mosaics and was pleasantly surprised to see some participating themselves.

The event this year was modernised with the demonstration of drone flying and a live photoshoot from Flashstudios presenting blue smoke effects.

Mrs Ronald said the private property chosen to display the art was “the very best for gardens and orchids,” due to the rich soil as a result of climate.

She hailed the 11 March event a success saying, “the event was perfect. We had beautiful weather, a magnificent garden, amazing artists and Rosa’s coffee van!”
