Dandenong Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives are investigating a sexual assault that occurred in a Pakenham car park in January.

Investigators have been told that at approximately 9.30am on Thursday 8 January, a woman was walking to work along King Street where she observed a man sitting in a dark green utility with what appeared to be a cement mixer in the rear tray.

The unknown man asked the woman for directions to a supermarket. The victim got into the man’s vehicle to direct him as the supermarket was located near her workplace.

After driving the victim to the supermarket car park the man asked the victim for a sexual act in exchange for cash, which she declined.

The man locked the vehicle’s doors then drove to a car park at the intersection of King and Henry streets, Pakenham where he sexually assaulted the woman before driving off.

The man is described as being of a medium to heavy build with black hair and a tanned complexion.

The man was wearing a navy blue singlet, navy shorts and black thongs at the time of the incident.

Detectives have released a composite image of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.
