Residents on lockdown, man armed

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner after the body of a man was located in bushland near Blind Bight, near Tooradin, at 1.40pm on Monday 10 September.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

It comes after the area was put in lockdown as police searched for the man, believed to be armed.

Traffic to Blind Bight was closed off and residents warned to remain inside and lock their doors while police searched surrounding bushland.

Professional Standards Command will oversee the investigation as per standard protocol when there is a death in police presence.
