Community groups in Officer and surrounding suburbs have the opportunity to apply for funding totalling $10,000 thanks to a new community grant program.

The Arcadia community grants program is offered by Satterley Property Group, the developer behind the popular community, Arcadia.

The program is aimed at clubs and other organisations seeking funds for community events, activities and projects.

Jack Hoffmann, Satterley General Manager for Victoria and Queensland, said the grants would help recognise sporting, welfare, arts and other not- for-profit groups in the local area.

“Roads, houses and open spaces are essential for a community, but they don’t create a sense of community. For that, you need grassroots organisations and groups that help connect people and contribute positively to the local community,” Mr Hoffmann said.

“Through our Community Grants Program we hope to support and strengthen local groups, whether they need help raising money for an event or funds for a much-needed facility. In doing so, we want to create opportunities for our own residents to get involved and feel a sense of belonging to the local area.”

Applications need to be submitted by 5pm Sunday 14 October 2018
