A Kooweerup teenager is among a group of people charged following an alleged armed robbery at a jewellery store in Mill Park last year.

The alleged incident occurred at a McDonalds Road shopping centre on 14 March 2017.

The 17-year-old male from Kooweerup was arrested in Dandenong on Tuesday 12 June.

He was charged with armed robbery and has been bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

Three others were charged and processed in relation to the alleged incidents.

A 25-year-old Stawell woman charged with handle stolen goods, a 27-year-old Stawell man charged with armed robbery, and a 29-year-old Greensborough man charged with armed robbery.

At the time investigators were told the masked bandits used hammers to smash their way into the suburban jeweller as part of the daring daylight armed robbery.

The balaclava-clad thieves then allegedly smashed display cases and stole jewellery before making their getaway.

The investigation remains ongoing and police are still looking for two other males.
