A man in his seventies has been taken to the Alfred Hospital by road ambulance in a serious condition following a vehicle collision between a truck and a car.

Paramedics were called to a report of a truck rollover at the intersection of Princes Freeway and Cardinia Road just before 12pm on Tuesday 15 May.

Only the elderly driver sustained injuries from the collision, an Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said.

VicRoads said all lanes are still closed inbound and one lane is now closed outbound, and recommend motorists use McGregor Road on to the Princes Highway as an alternative exit.

Diversions are set up at Cardinia Road, where motorists should exit the Freeway, turn right and head north to the Princes Highway to avoid the closure.
