The Haileybury school community is mourning the death of a staff member in a freak accident at the Berwick campus.
Grounds staff member Kym Page was believed to have cutting trees at the rear of the High Street private school on 14 February when he fell about 4pm.
Tragically, he died at the scene.
Haileybury CEO Derek Scott said the school community was “shocked and saddened” by the passing of its beloved grounds staff member.
“Kym had been a loved and highly regarded member of our school community since April 2002, and he will be greatly missed,” Mr Scott said.
“Our deepest sympathies are extended to his family at this difficult time.”
Victoria Police spokeswoman Belinda Batty said police were preparing a report for the coroner following the death of a man at a school in Berwick on 14 February.
“WorkSafe are investigating,” Ms Batty said.
Mr Scott said counselling services have been made available to all Haileybury staff.
He said no further comment would be made at this time.
