Face painting fun

Face painting and children’s activities will be on offer at Cardinia Lakes’ Shopping Centre on 16 December. The activities will be part of Ryan Road Childcare and Swim School’s stall, which will include information for parents on child care options.

  • Saturday 16 December from 10am to noon at Cardinia Lakes’ Shopping Centre, Pakenham.


Parkrun

Participate with more than 100 others in a free five-kilometre timed event every Saturday morning. The event caters for serious runners and for those wanting a jog or even a walk.

Berwick Carols

Come sing along with Bethany Fisher and her dancers. You can even try to dance along if you can. This year’s Berwick Carols by Candlelight promises great entertainment for all ages.

Christmas trees

Friends of Ermera are selling fresh Christmas trees in three sizes at Akoonah Park’s Sunday market. All proceeds support education and training programs in the Ermera district of Timor Leste. Trees are also able to be ordered from friends.of.ermera.president@gmail.com or 0418 557 988. Delivery is available acrss the City of Casey for $5.

  • The trees are on sale at Akoonah Park market, Cardinia Street, Berwick, on Sunday 17 December, from 8am-1.30pm. Trees range from 7 foot ($70), 6 foot ($60) and 5 foot ($50).


Stars descend on Casey

Council, in partnership with the Melbourne Stars, will deliver this free event for the community at Casey Fields in Cranbourne East. Entertainment includes free activities and a chance to meet and get autographs from Melbourne Stars players, including captains John Hastings and Kristen Beams. Free activities include rides, kids’ workshops, face painting, animal encounters, roving entertainers and stalls. Melbourne Stars also will run a range of fun cricket activities including Stars Land, cricket inflatables and a double pitch throwing activity and local cricketers will take part in a Milo in2CRICKET clinic co-ordinated from noon-12.45pm.

Carols in Harmony Square

The 70th annual Greater Dandenong carols event will free activities for kids from 6pm, including a storytime session, face painting, arts and crafts and balloon animals.
The carols start at 6.30pm and include performances from Chris McKenna, Roy Best, Michelle Fitzmaurice, Roy Best, pianist David Cameron, Bethany Fisher, the City of Greater Dandenong Band, Dandenong Primary School and the Tongan Upper Room Worship Team.
There’ll be a special appearance from Shrek and food and market stalls.

  • Harmony Square, 225 Lonsdale Street, Dandenong. Friday 15 December, 6pm to 9.30pm. On-street and multi-deck car parking is free after 6pm.
