Bad Moms 2’s a bad movie too

Mom gone wild Carla with her old mom gone wilder, Susan Sarandon.

Bad Moms 2
Starring: Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, Kathryn Hahn

For those who wanted Bad Moms 2 for Christmas … well, it’s a spud in your stocking.
Just as filthy as the original – maybe almost filthier in places – this gross-out comedy has none of the charm of the first instalment of the franchise.
The cast goes through the motions – this time with their own moms involved.
It’s the same old shtick – the real meaning of Christmas, as opposed to the commercialism etc. Maybe they’re working for free?
It’s the biggest time of the year for all moms and, frankly, they’re crumbling under the pressure. What if they just switched off all the Christmas angst and just let it be?
Susan Sarandon adds some colour as the wild, irresponsible druggie old mom while Christine Baranski adds none as another one.
Kathryn Hahn as Carla, the wild young mom again completely steals the show and, frankly, makes the hotter young moms look pretty tame by comparison.
The truth is, it’s not even worth the price of admission to hear Carla scream: “Put a baby in me, Santa number two!”
There’s the overwhelming sense we’ve been here before – because we have – but it was all done so much better the first time.
No shiny tinsel here – just the highly-anticipated, hefty present that turns out to be a gift-wrapped brick.
Give yourself an early Christmas present – and give this re-heated Christmas leftover a miss.
