Garfield Primary School students are one step closer to having a brand new playground after participating in the CUA School Fun Run.
The fun run on Friday 10 November focused on using exercise as a way of raising money for the school rather than a junk food fund-raiser.
“The students put in a fantastic effort at the school’s fun run,” principal John Barkley said.
“The whole school enjoyed a warm up to the Macareena!
“Students were raving about lunches which were made locally by Brewster’s Foodstore and Cafe, who provided awesome rolls and cookies to give them the strength to run their hardest.
“As the afternoon went on, students were treated to zooper-doopers and snakes, followed by a healthy fruit snack that was donated by Garfield Fresh Harvest.”
Students were in charge of finding their own sponsors for the fund-raiser, with donations still coming online thick and fast.
“Students were focused on participating and having fun, while raising money for a new senior playground.
“A big thank you to our community for your donations.”
