Held on the last weekend in May, the Pakenham Art Show has something for everyone.
President Jillian Ronald said the diversity of the art on display will be amazing.
“This year our special category is Recycled Art. Artists have risen to the challenge and we will see some very innovative art,” Ms Ronald said.
Also included are some beautiful traditional pieces from well-known and successful artists.
But a visit to the art show is not just about paintings, live entertainment is scheduled each day and there are workshops and demonstrations on Saturday and Sunday.
At the opening night on Friday 26 May at 7pm well known harpist Cath Connelly will perform her beautiful Celtic music.
Connelly has been playing the Celtic harp professionally since 1998. She is now considered one of Australia’s leading Celtic harpists.
In true Celtic fashion, Cath also incorporates storytelling into engaging concerts that span Irish folklore, Celtic tradition, music and spirituality.
Her music is deeply grounded in the Celtic tradition, with its potential to dwell in that liminal space between the known and the unknown. It is here that Cath’s music melds contemporary spirituality with the ancient Celtic harp tradition.
On Saturday well known, local and popular musician John Veloso will entertain and on Sunday newly formed band Little Wing have the entertainment covered!
Opening night will also include the announcement of prize winners and The Wearable Art Parade.
The art show will be held at the Pakenham Hall from Friday 26 May to Sunday 28 May.
