Federation University Berwick is the new major sponsor of the Casey Cardinia Business Awards 2017.
In its inaugural year, the university signed up to the Casey Cardinia Business Awards, replacing Monash University as a major sponsor.
The awards recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements businesses and organisations have had across the region.
University acting vice-chancellor Professor Andy Smith said the sponsorship reflected the university’s desire to make a difference to the community, local businesses and people it serves.
“We believe it is important to acknowledge and celebrate the hard work undertaken by our local business community across the Casey Cardinia region,” Professor Smith said.
“Thriving businesses mean thriving communities. Businesses create jobs, which creates income that leads to spending and re-investment in the community.
“The Casey Cardinia region is one of the fastest growing in Australia and represents new growth opportunities for businesses to grow and we want to support that with our education programs.”
City of Casey deputy mayor Cr Damien Rosario welcomed the university as a major sponsor to support the future growth in the Casey Cardinia region.
“Federation University Australia will play a pivotal role in fostering our next generation of business people. They offer a broad range of business programs so this sponsorship is a great fit,” Cr Rosario said.
Applications for the awards are now open with winners announced at a gala dinner on 27 October.
