Cars smashed, items stolen

SEVERAL men have been arrested over thefts in Officer on Thursday 17 November.
Police have released them pending further inquiries, and are still on the lookout for those responsible for a more serious crime spree where cars were smashed open a day later in Pakenham.
Police have interviewed three men in relation to theft from car offences which took place in the Arena Shopping Centre car park in Officer and nearby at Longmeadow Road after 1.30am on 17 November.
About $150 worth of hand tools were stolen from a targeted Mitsubishi Triton in the shopping centre car park.
Hours later, a victim from Longmeadow Road reported their car’s rear window was smashed open and items including a purse and driver’s licence stolen.
Police arrested a 41-year-old Pakenham man, a 24-year-old Cockatoo man and a 34-year-old Narre Warren South man in relation to the offending.
It is unclear if they were arrested together, but police confirmed they were all interviewed and released without charges pending further inquiries.
Just over 24 hours later, four cars were broken into in Pakenham.
The rear small window was smashed in the cars parked on Breyleigh Drive, Pakenham, overnight between 10pm on Friday 18 November and 8am, Saturday 19 November.
Items taken include a laptop, handbag, purse, car fridge and number plate.
