EVERYONE threw on their best raceday gear for Pakenham Gazette Oaks Day.
Enjoying the warm spring sunshine, fashionista fillies and dapper dudes filled the Oaks marquee and watched the horses take to the track, while special guests and sponsors lived it up in the Skyline Suite.
Happy punters were heard cheering, celebrating a win – and champagne was flowing all day.
Sun umbrellas were a choice location for all the trackside racegoers who took to the shade throughout the warm, spring day, according to Pakenham Racing Club’s Wade Calderwood.
“The beautiful weather meant the crowd on the lawn had an enjoyable day,” he said.
The lawn was spotted with plenty of colour as ladies paraded their best frocks, outfits, hats and fascinators.
More than 60 racegoers took up the Pakenham Gazette’s free entry promotion.
