A MUSICAL afternoon concert on Saturday 21 May at Anglican Church Berwick has raised $1350 towards a fund that will support the education of students in Fiji.
Retired Berwick school teacher Cheryl Reid has been taking teams of volunteers to Suva for the past six years.
Ms Reid plans to return to Fiji in September for a two-week trip with a team of Melbourne volunteers focused on one-on-one teacher’s aide and offering professional development training to classroom teachers.
The group will hold another concert on Sunday 29 May at 2.30pm at St John’s Anglican Church, Nar Nar Goon. The matinee fund-raiser performance will feature orchestral, classical, musical theatre, jazz and contemporary ballads, with arrangements for violin and vocals. Entry is a $10 donation.
