Talent is all around

Casey’s Got Talent finalists with City of Casey Mayor Amanda Stapledon and councillor Wayne Smith.

ONE thing’s for sure – Casey’s got plenty of talent.
And the community has the opportunity to see some of the city’s finest home-grown talent this weekend at the Mayoral Charity Concert Performing Arts Spectacular – Casey’s Got Talent Final.
Local performers of all ages who were selected from auditions held this month will take to the stage for acts including singing, dancing and instrumentals.
City of Casey mayor Amanda Stapledon said the event was not to be missed.
“Casey’s Got Talent provides a great opportunity for talented and creative individuals and groups to showcase their skills on a large scale,” she said.
“This final event will highlight the strength and depth of our local performers, including singers, dancers and instrumentalists as well as promoting and encouraging participation in the arts.”
Cr Stapledon acknowledged the work of organising committee delegates, councillors Wayne Smith, Louise Berkelmans and Susan Serey.
“This year funds raised from the Casey’s Got Talent Final will be donated to local, non-profit community service organisation Blairlogie Living and Learning,” Cr Smith said.
“Blairlogie provides invaluable support to adults living with disability, including opportunities to learn new skills and develop and pursue their own interests.
“Blairlogie is looking toward providing supported accommodation for people with a disability living with ageing carers.
“Casey is currently facing critical service gaps for people living with disability and their carers, and these funds will help Blairlogie improve their much-needed service delivery.
“By coming along to Casey’s Got Talent you will enjoy first-class entertainment, support local community members, friends or even family members, while helping boost one of the city’s critical services.”
The Casey’s Got Talent Final will be held on Saturday 3 August at 7pm at the River Gum Performing Arts Centre, Hampton Park Secondary College, 58-96 Fordholm Road, Hampton Park.
Tickets will be available at the door for $15.
