Bright sparks marked

ENERGY distributor SP AusNet has honoured its brightest apprentices and trainees across their gas and electricity business with the announcement of the 2010 Apprentice and Trainee of the Year Award.
Warragul Lineworker, Mark Slate was one of six to receive an award.
The winners were chosen from a field of 109 apprentices and trainees currently working with SP AusNet towards qualifications in a range of energy-related fields including electrical lineworking, electrical fitting, technical testing, and electrical network design.
Apprentice and trainee manager Gerard Cooke said the awards, now in their fourth year, recognised outstanding apprentices and trainees who strove to excel in their chosen field.
The winning four apprentices and two trainees were presented with their awards in a ceremony hosted by managing director Nino Ficca at the company’s headquarters in Melbourne.
