THE 2010 Lang Lang Show has been hailed a success, with more people going through the gate over the weekend than in previous years.
Blessed by good weather, show committee secretary Cheryl Berry said the day went very well, with up to 700 people attending.
“We have received a lot of feedback from stallholders who say business has picked up over the past couple of years,” Ms Berry said.
“And that is because we have been able to get more people through the gate.”
Ms Berry said the increase in crowds was thanks to the committee’s work to provide more entertainment for kids on the day.
“We also have a lucky gate prize, so all the kids wait around until the winner is announced,” she said.
“All those kind of things help.”
Unlike previous years, show visitors did not have to brave 40-plus temperatures, a warm 30-degree day providing perfect weather.
Ms Berry said there was also a good number of entries in most sections held on the day.
“A lot of people registered their horses on the day which was great,” she said.
“A couple of rings went until 5.30pm, and they started at 9am.”
All in all, Ms Berry said it was a wonderful day that went without hiccups.
Now the committee will turn their efforts to get ready for the Lang Lang Rodeo, which will be held on 5 April.
