Horror film characters and nightmares came to life across Cardinia for Halloween on Thursday 31 October.

Hundreds of costume-wearing trick or treaters took over the streets of Pakenham and surrounds seeking out lollies and chocolates.

One Pakenham house in particular, turned into a gathering of goblins, ghosts and all things ghastly.

Dan’s Haunted House, a horrifying walk-through maze with live actors and moving props, attracted thousands of thrill seekers.

“The evening went well. It was a slower maze this year as we could only get about 1000 people through,” Dan Ioannou said.

“The wait time was on average 1.5 hours but everyone said it was worth the wait.

“Everyone looked like they had a great time and that’s what we all do it for.”
