Take a trip back to the roaring 20s with Beaconhills’ dazzling new upcoming musical production Thoroughly Modern Millie.

Set in the height of the jazz age, Thoroughly Modern Millie tells the story of small-town girl, Millie Dillmount, who has arrived in New York to make her dreams come true.

Her plan is to find a job as a secretary for a wealthy man and marry him but, of course, her plan goes completely awry.

More than 50 students from years five to 12 are part of this exciting production, with VCE Season of

Excellence drama awardees Christina Keen (Millie Dillmount) and Cael Fisher (Jimmy Smith) playing the leads.

Director Amara Jensen said the show would have the audience’s tastebuds tapping along with their feet.

Accomplished college chef Chetan Ghaisas is rolling out a menu of New York-themed food for the production.

Forget the chips and chocolate bars, patrons will have some tempting choices such as New York hot dog with tangy gherkins, mustard and American cheddar, American-style pulled smoky brisket with crunchy slaw, Brooklyn beef pie with smoky relish, New York cheesecake and Jersey choco donuts.

Tickets are now on sale for four shows from 9 to 11 May at Beaconhills College’s Lois Maghanoy Centre for Performing Arts, 30-34 Toomuc Valley Road, Pakenham.
